Ludovico Einaudi is an Italian composer and pianist. He studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and with Luciano Berio. He began his career as a classical composer, soon incorporating other styles into his work, including pop, rock, ethnic, and folk music. Einaudi also frequently employed ambient music in his music. His music is often meditative and introspective, drawing on minimalism and contemporary pop.
He wrote music for films such as "The Intouchables" and "I'm Still Here," and the television miniseries "Doctor Zhivago" (2002) and "Acquario" (1996). For "Acquario," he received the Grolla d'oro award for "Best Soundtrack." He has released several albums of works for piano and orchestra. He recorded a track with Adriano Celentano in 2007 for the actor's 40th anniversary album.
